The Fault in our Stars

Hazel Grace Lancaster is a sixteen-year-old teenager who has been ill with cancer for three years. She describes herself as a grenade that is going to blow up soon. When she first appears in the kids support group, she meets Augustus whose leg was amputated and who seems to have defeated his cancer. Together they travel to Amsterdam to meet the author of Hazel's favourite book. There, some disappointments and changes are waiting for them ...

John Green's young adult novel is a perfect mixture of humour and tragedy. It deals with themes such as love, death and life. The author shows us that you can also enjoy a short life. He describes the characters very well, therefore you can really feel with them. I'm sure everyone will think about the meaning of this book even a long time after reading it. (Antonia Surböck, 4b)
