Black Swan

Swan Lake, an iconic ballet known by all – but what if your best dream turns into the worst nightmare you have ever had? That is exactly what happens to Nina Sayers, a promising dancer in a ballet company who is supposed to replace retiring dancer Beth MacIntyre. On demand of Nina’s coach, she discovers more about her dark side that is slowly driving her deeper into insanity ...

Black Swan is a psycho thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky that is portraying Natalie Portman as aspiring dancer Nina Sayers and Mila Kunis as her friend and rival, Lily.

The movie is not for faint-hearted people as it delivers a rather confusing but also interesting metaphor about the life on stage. What really brings this movie together are the neatly done special effects and fluid transitions between what seems to be real and what really is. Despite not knowing a lot about the acting business, I feel like I now understand why pursuing such a career can be sometimes mentally draining. That's why the movie was surely worth watching.
